Community Service and Pro Bono Committee

The Community Service and Pro Bono Committee coordinates the AABA’s community service and pro bono efforts, which include legal seminars and law clinics providing legal advice, services, and referrals to the local Asian American population and to the indigent. The Committee also works in conjunction with other community and advocacy organizations to further the AABA’s goals of promoting equality and justice for Asian Americans and participating in charitable endeavors for the benefit of the Houston community and beyond.

Corporate Counsel Committee

The Corporate Counsel Committee provides Asian American in-house attorneys throughout the Greater Houston area with opportunities for networking, information exchange, continuing legal education programs, and career development. The Committee also organizes, publicizes, and plans the AABA’s annual Corporate Counsel Dinner and acts as a resource for AABA members interested in becoming in-house counsel and in developing business relationships with in-house counsel.

Gala Committee

The Gala Committee organizes and coordinates the AABA’s largest event of the year, the annual Gala & Silent Auction. The Gala & Silent Auction features prominent keynote speakers, the presentation of the AABA’s annual Impact Award, and a Silent Auction benefiting the Asian American Bar Foundation, and is the most important fundraising event for the AABA. It is also the best-attended event by AABA members and other guests from the Houston community and beyond.

Mentorship and Law School Relations Committee

The Mentorship and Law School Relations Committee directs the AABA’s yearly Mentorship Program, which pairs law students and young attorneys with more experienced attorneys who offer advice regarding coursework, jobs, life balance, and career decisions. The Committee also organizes career nights, panels, receptions, and other events for the benefit of the AABA’s law student members, and publishes the AABA's annual Law Student Resume Book, which is distributed to law firm and corporate hiring departments throughout the city. The Committee helps to build a professional AABA network that promotes the career interests of its future peers, thus advancing the visibility of all AABA members.

Programs Committee

The Programs Committee organizes all programs of general interest for the AABA membership, including Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and other seminars. The Committee also plans and coordinates programs to assist AABA members with the development of their legal practices.

Social Committee
