Catherine Than practices commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, and banking law with Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta, L.L.P. She received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000, where she was inducted into Iron Arrow, the highest honor attained at the University of Miami. She is admitted to practice law in Texas and Florida. Catherine is the current President of the AABA. She previously served as the AABA’s President-Elect (2007), Co-Chair of the Corporate Counsel Committee (2006), Vice President of Membership & Mentorship (2005), Co-Chair of the AABA Gala & Silent Auction (2004), and as Silent Auction Chair of the 2005 AABA Gala & Silent Auction. Additionally, she is on the Board of Trustees, and is the Vice Chair, of the Asian American Bar Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit affiliate of the AABA. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas Standing Committee on Women in the Profession. In 2007, she was named a Texas Super Lawyer – Rising Star by Texas Monthly magazine.

Warren S. Huang is the 2008 President-Elect of the Asian American Bar Association, having previously served as 2007 Vice President of Community Relations, 2006 Secretary, and Co-Chair of the 2005 AABA Gala & Silent Auction.

Warren is a partner in the appellate section of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., where he has worked since 1996. Warren specializes in handling civil appeals in federal and state appellate courts. He also assists trial counsel in preparing pre-trial and post-trial motions, preserving error, and positioning cases for appeal. Warren received his B.A. in political science from the University of Chicago, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and he received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was executive editor of the Journal of Asian Law and Secretary of APALSA. Warren was named a Texas Super Lawyer – Rising Star in 2005 and 2006.

Judy Y. Liu, the AABA’s 2008 Vice President of Membership, is Assistant General Counsel at CenterPoint Energy Service Company, LLC, where she manages litigation. Judy also served as the AABA's Vice President of Membership in 2007 and co-chaired the AABA Gala & Silent Auction in 2006. She was named a Texas Super Lawyer - Rising Star in 2007 and 2008 by Texas Monthly magazine. Prior to joining CenterPoint Energy, Judy was an associate in the Trial department at Baker Botts, LLP, practicing employment and commercial litigation. She received her J.D. in 1997 from Harvard Law School, where she was a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau. She graduated in 1993 from Columbia College at Columbia University with a B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Political Science. She is a member of Christ the King Presbyterian Church.

Joyce Kao Soliman is a partner in the finance section of Porter & Hedges, L.L.P., representing financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and other lenders in commercial finance transactions, including secured and unsecured commercial loans, asset-based financings, syndicated credit facilities, letters of credit, and acquisition financings. Her practice also involves representing issuers and borrowers in public offerings and private placements of debt securities, lending transactions and general corporate matters.

Joyce is the 2008 AABA Vice President of Programs. She previously served as Co-Chair of the successful 2007 AABA Gala & Silent Auction. Joyce is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School and has been named a “Texas Rising Star” in surveys conducted by Texas Monthly magazine from 2005-2007.

Lynn Chuang Kramer is an Associate with Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. and represents clients in bankruptcy, business reorganization, and commercial litigation matters. Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Lynn was an Associate with Floyd Jones Rios Wahrlich, P.C. Before joining Floyd Jones in September of 2003, she served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Leif M. Clark, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Texas. During her clerkship, Lynn dealt with both domestic and cross-border insolvency matters.

Lynn received her B.A. in Political Science and Asian Studies from Rice University in 1999 and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2002. She is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, as well as in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Lynn is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the Moeller/Foltz Inns of Court, and the Rice Young Alumni Committee, and currently serves as Vice President of Community Relations of the AABA, following two previous consecutive terms as Vice President of Programs. She was a founding member of the Houston Network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), for which she also currently serves as Treasurer. In 2006, she was named a Texas Super Lawyer – Rising Star by Texas Monthly magazine.

In 2007, Steve C. Bae joined Deloitte Tax LLP as Manager of Deloitte's State Strategic Tax Review section. Previously, he practiced general and commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and creditors' rights for four years in the Houston office of Germer Gertz, L.L.P. Steve received his Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He also graduated from the University of Houston in 1993 with a M.S. in Accounting and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the South Texas College of Law in December of 2001. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Texas, all Texas state courts, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas. Steve is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association. Last year, he was appointed to the State Bar of Texas’s Standing Committee on Legal Services to the Poor in Civil Matters. He is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Texas. This is his third term as Treasurer of the Asian American Bar Association.

Julie Pi Evans is serving her second term in 2008 as Secretary of the Asian American Bar Association. Julie is an Associate with the law office of David M. Verbit & Associates, P.C., where she practices commercial law. She is a 2002 graduate of the Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, where she was Social Director of the Student Bar Association. She received her undergraduate degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997.

Julie is also a member of the Houston Bar Association, for which she serves on the Historical Committee; the Houston Young Lawyers Association; and the Association of Women Attorneys. For the past two years, she has also been a member of the AABA’s Gala & Silent Auction Committee.
